Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) joined legislators and members of Local 66 on April 29 to unveil “Energize PA,” a package of eight bills that he said creates jobs and will redevelop infrastructure with no additional fees or taxes.

The package of bills include:

  • HB 1100 – Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne) – A tax credit would be offered to industries using PA methane in production.
  • HB 1101 – Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-Allegheny)- Encourages businesses to invest in growth and technology by increasing the Net Operating Loss deduction cap.
  • HB 1102 – Rep. Josh Kail (R-Beaver)- Helps generate family-sustaining jobs and would encourage capitol investment in Pennsylvania’s natural gas and manufacturing industries by creating 20 Keystone Energy Enhancement Zones where businesses would be eligible for local tax exempts and credits.
  • HB 1103 – Rep. Jonathon Fritz (R- Susquehanna)- Expands the PIPE program which makes low-cost gas energy available to manufacturers and residents.
  • HB 1104 – Rep. Tarah Toohil (R-Luzerne)- Would create a registry that lists abandoned manufacturing sites that are now available properties for development.
  • HB 1105 – Rep. Eric Nelson (R-Westmoreland) Creates a streamlined permit process which encourages brownfields cleanup and redevelopment.
  • HB 1106 – Rep. Mike Puskaric (R-Allegheny)- Streamlines the approval process of environmental permits and plans so industries aren’t having to face bureaucratic delays.
  • HB 1107 – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington)- Creates an independent commission to deal with the DEP permit process.
