Environmental Justice and The Natural Gas Industry Training Tickets, Thu, Aug 1, 2024 at 9:30 AM | Eventbrite

Environmental Justice is defined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as the “just treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of income, race, color, national origin, Tribal affiliation, or disability, in agency decision-making and other federal activities that affect human health and the environment.” In recent years, federal and state governments have updated policies to protect and define environmental justice areas and populations from perceived disproportionate and adverse human health and environmental effects.

In September 2023, Pennsylvania published an updated Environmental Justice Policy that includes a new mapping tool as interim/final, recommended for use when developing in these areas. The final policy is slated to be published sometime in Q3 2024.

Join industry experts for an overview of both the federal and state Environmental Justice Policies, including a comprehensive overview of the final draft policy and case studies discussions about lessons learned when developing in these areas. Additionally, Marcellus Shale Coalition member experts will present legal and regulatory considerations for the natural gas industry when navigating the policy.
