Position Description
This position is responsible for managing and executing the Company’s strategy to secure long term crude supply for the refinery. Under minimal supervision, individuals in this role initiate, develop and maintain positive relations with existing and prospective crude suppliers, industry partners and internal stakeholders. Based in the Bradford PA office, successful candidates will identify and recommend new business opportunities throughout the region for ARG and its affiliates.

Roles & Responsibilities
·         Identifies prospects and leads to meet desired crude supply levels and develops strategic partnerships to secure long-term supply.

·         Works collaboratively with integrated team to ensure prospective crudes meet Company’s quality standards.

·         Provides professional and timely customer service to suppliers/customers ensuring appropriate level of direct communication and in person meetings to maintain and grow business.

·         Participates and actively engaged in various industry organizations, conferences, and events to promote ARG and to expand networking opportunities.

·         Monitors incoming crude to ensure crude quality meets company processing requirements; Interfaces with appropriate departments on quality issues and corrective actions.

·         Sets up new crude supplier division orders, payment terms and supply and transportation contracts; ensures timely and accurate payments to suppliers through Crude Disbursement

·         Monitors and prepares various reports pertaining to crude receipts, suppliers, forecasts, quality, inventory, crude exchanges and other crude purchasing information as requested.

·         Provides crude oil marketing intelligence and recommendations to Management.

·         Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership.

Qualifications & Education
·      Bachelor’s degree in a business or science discipline from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.

·      Two to five years’ experience within the Exploration and Production sector of the oil and gas industry with knowledge of Pennsylvania and New York conventional oil and gas operations.

·      Prior crude oil or commodity purchasing and marketing experience preferred; skilled in sales and customer relations is beneficial.

·      Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor required in order to develop and maintain relationships with fellow employees and suppliers.

·      Experience establishing, building, and promoting positive relationships through quality customer service.

·      Competent in the use of general office equipment and computers including the Microsoft Suite of applications.

Competencies & Performance Areas
Understands crude oil markets, pricing benchmarks, and logistics to secure crude oil that will optimize Company’s profitability.

 

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills along with a positive and aggressive attitude toward increasing crude supply.

 

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage numerous existing and prospective suppliers; capable of working cooperatively and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.

 

Ability to work independently is essential along with flexibility in job assignments.

 

Able to generate, manage, and close business transactions including all negotiation and contract preparation and execution.

Physical & Cognitive Demands
Must possess and maintain valid motor vehicle license; overnight travel within and outside assigned area is required for this role.

 

Attention to accuracy and detail is essential.
