In support of the National Petroleum Council’s Study on GHG Reductions in the Natural Gas Supply Chain 

Organizer: National Petroleum Council – A Federal Advisory Committee to the Secretary of Energy

Objective: The National Petroleum Council (NPC) is currently undertaking a study at the request of the Secretary of Energy (link to request letter) to provide the Council’s perspective on greenhouse gas emissions
reduction plans and potential across the U.S. natural gas value chain. These workshops are being held to ensure that the voice of the “less capitalized operator” community is included in the NPC study.

Who: Executives and managers from small cap oil and gas producers and small cap midstream companies.  Anticipated attendance will be 30-60 people (limit two per company, please).

Workshop: This a one-day event planned from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm local time.

All workshops will follow the Chatham House Rule and will cover the following:
• An overview of the NPC and the GHG Study
• Less capitalized operator case study
• Workshop review by topic – discussions
        o Baseline understanding
        o Current industry initiatives
         o Smaller operators’ perspective/challenges to initiatives
• Open discussion of concerns or topics not identified.

To meet their objectives, the workshops will:
• Solicit feedback from operators, which may be incorporated into the final NPC study report
• Listen to operators regarding their concerns about methane and other GHG emissions reduction programs and learn from those who have already implemented GHG emissions reduction programs (reduction initiatives, operational programs, monitoring, tracking, industry regulations, policy incentives, societal considerations)
• Hear operators’ thoughts on potential reduction pathways, including e.g.:
          o Economic benefits
          o Implementation and timing regarding rules/regulations
          o Sharing ideas & technology (measurements, results, experiences) analogous to safety
          o Training of personnel on technologies.

Other: There is no fee for participation.

Registration: Please complete a registration form for each participant at this link and designate which workshop(s) you will attend. These workshops are open to all oil and natural gas producers and midstream companies. While the agenda will be similar, each workshop will be different based on the attendees and discussions
